En 2019, The Cinematic Orchestra fêtait ses 20 ans et signait son grand retour avec « To Believe », son quatrième album. L’occasion de réécouter des extraits de la discographie de ce groupe phare de la scène nu jazz britannique, fondé en 1999 par Jason Swinscoe. J’ai ainsi trouvé dans le beau To Build A Home les notes parfaites pour parer ce mois d’août de beautés douces et tendres.
Premier titre de « Ma Fleur », troisième album du groupe paru il y a plus d’une décennie, To Build A Home est connu pour avoir été utilisé dans plusieurs films et notamment dans le poétique « Bright Star » de Jane Campion, mais aussi dans de nombreuses séries américaines (« Orange Is The New Black », « Homeland », « Esprits Criminels », « Grey’s Anatomy »…). Le musicien québécois Patrick Watson pose ici sa voix sur les envolées émouvantes d’un piano mélancolique. Somptueux.
